Do you know who to call in the event of an eye care emergency?
As responsible as we are about our ongoing eye health, occasionally things happen that are beyond our control. In situations such as this, we want you to know you can count on the experienced, compassionate team at Mercer Island Family Eye Care. Our office and staff are equipped and prepared to provide urgent optical care at a moment’s notice.
Some of the signs of a potential vision care emergency include, but are not limited to:
- Extremely red, itchy and/or painful eyes
- Sudden changes in vision or vision loss
- “Floaters” in the vision
- Foreign bodies
- Flashes of light
If you are unable to make it in to our office to be seen, or it’s after hours and you have suffered an optical emergency, please call 911.
At Mercer Island Family Eye Care, your optical health is our highest priority. While we certainly hope you never experience the need for urgent eye care, we want you to know that if you do, we’re here to help.
If you notice any of these signs or symptoms, or you have suffered injury or trauma to your eye(s), seek professional medical attention right away. Timely treatment of urgent vision care needs will improve the chances of a positive outcome and could help prevent permanent damage.
